Sacramento Rainbow Kids was created in 2009, with only 3 families all of whom had young children who were strongly expressing that they were NOT the Gender they were assigned at birth. There were no local services that addressed the needs of younger kids at that time so we created a safe place for us parents to talk and our kids to be able to play together and just be who they are. Since that time, Rainbow Kids has grown to include over 150 families. Our shared experiences and struggles have brought us closer. We invite you to join our family and come join in the fun! Transgender+ Kids of all ages are welcome, as well as supportive friends and family. We continue to be the only group in the Sacramento Area to serve children under 12. 

 We come together to share in both our struggles and triumphs as Parents and Caregivers of Transgender+ Kids and their kiddos to create a safe and welcoming community. We welcome all ages, races, genders, sexual orientations, disabilities and religions. We foster genuine relationships based on trust. We value and respect one another’s privacy, what’s said here, stays here. We work within the community to raise awareness and change for Transgender, Non-Binary, Gender Exploring, Gender Queer, Gender Non-Conforming, Third Gender Kids (Aged 3+) issues. We serve as a resource for navigating schools, churches, doctors, extended families, mental health providers, and legal issues.
